A confession

I hate to write. I feel I am really really bad at it. And so I'm sort of wondering why I'm doing a blog--maybe I'll do some video ones. I'm much funnier in real life. I guess I will just practice writing. And it will make me better. Maybe I'll talk to Mrs. Everett about how to be a better writer. Tomorrow: a book review. For a book that I don't have in the library. It's mean but I just finished reading it so I have to talk about it. And I'm going to book review every book I've been reading because I've been reading a lot and I want to share it all with you!!!

The Hate List

Oh my gosh, I stayed up way to late a few nights ago finishing this book up. I was half way through before last night, then I just couldn't put it down. SOOOO good!

The Hate List is about a girl who has been bullied all through high school--called Sister Death because she wore black and "was obsessed with death." For years this went on, but she had friends that made her life bareable--she even had a boyfriend who she loved. The boyfriend also had been riduculed all through high school. You know the type: from the wrong side of the tracks, didn't wear the nicest clothes, and wasn't always clean. And he understood how hard it was to be picked on. And one day while they were comiserating about how mean some people were, they started a hate list. A list of all the people who had done them wrong and how much they hated them. The bf ends up going on a shooting rampage and leaving his gf to grieve over the loss of him and really, her old life.

The story is told from different time periods: before the shooting, during the shooting, and after..but in different orders. Sometimes she goes back in time and sometimes forward. I won't lie--you have to be paying attention because the author puts flashbacks in without much of a warning. But they help give background with the relationship.

I am debating about if this will go in our library or not--there is the f word in there, and it's a pretty heavy subject. So that is to be determined.

Let's get this party started!

I've been poking around for a few years now thinking about blogging or getting a website going--so this is how we're going to get it going!

So welcome! I guess I'll be posting about what I'm reading. Or what you want to be reading. Or what's going on in the library. Or something that someone does that makes me laugh.
